What is ADAS Calibration?

ADAS is what can be described as a group or family of safety features. These systems go into effect through sensors that are located on different point of your vehicle. These sensors capture valuable information which is then transmitted to different systems. As such, the main goal of ADAS is to prevent or reduce the negative impacts of unfortunate events by alerting the driver. A few safety feature examples are:

- Lane Departure Warning - Automatic Cruise Control
- Collision Warning - Pedestrian Protection
- Blind Spot Monitoring - Headlights Control
- Park Assist

TYPES OF WINDSHIELD CAMERA CALIBRATION

A properly calibrated camera after a windshield installation is a critical safety measure.

Dynamic Calibration

A technician inserts a hand-held device into your car, and drives the vehicle at a set speed on well-marked roads, over a certain distance. After the test, the sensors are properly calibrated.

Static Recalibration

Requires a controlled environment and a specific target image mounted on a fixture in front of the vehicle. A technician finds "Zero", sets up the target board and vehicle specs, and then the camera is connected and re-programmed.
